AT&T Reduces Autopay Discounts for Customers
Beginning April 24th, AT&T will decrease its autopay and paperless billing discounts by 50%. According to a statement from AT&T representative Kyle Loomis, customers who are part of the autopay program will receive a $5 reduction on their monthly bill for payments made via debit card, down from the previous $10 discount.
The telecommunications company is also eliminating the current $5 discount previously available to customers using linked credit cards for autopay and paperless billing. Moving forward, this discount will only be accessible to those with an AT&T Plus Card issued by Citi. However, customers choosing to pay via their bank accounts will still benefit from a $10 discount on their autopay bills.
Loomis noted that this adjustment is part of an effort to “align with others in the industry.” This change isn’t entirely unexpected, as major competitors like T-Mobile and Verizon have already reduced their autopay incentives for customers who use credit cards. Last year, Verizon even halved discounts for a broader range of its customers.
