AT&T Revamps the International Day Pass: Key Changes Unveiled

Following Verizon’s recent changes to its Cruise Daily pass, AT&T has announced updates to its International Day Pass aimed at enhancing the travel experience for cruise passengers.

The key highlight of these modifications is the availability of AT&T’s International Day Pass at a daily rate. Customers will benefit from immediate service upon disembarking. AT&T has confirmed that this pass is now usable on over 400 cruise ships, offering unlimited text and voice calls when added to an unlimited plan, without incurring any data overages.

The service is designed to provide seamless connectivity both at sea and on land, with no extra charges for on-land usage the same day. Effective immediately, the International Day Pass is priced at $20 per day, which includes a daily data allowance of 500MB, again with no additional fees for exceeding that limit in terms of usage, alongside unlimited talk and text.

“AT&T’s guiding principle remains our customers. Their needs inform our efforts to create favorable deals and services—they are why we strive to establish connections wherever they are. Our goal is to ensure they have a seamless experience as they travel,” remarked Erin Scarborough, Senior Vice President of Consumer Product for AT&T, in April 2025.

It’s crucial to note that once customers reach the 500MB threshold within a 24-hour window while at sea, data speeds may be throttled to a maximum of 512Kbps on certain vessels. However, AT&T has assured that customers will regain the highest data speeds available at the start of the following 24-hour period. The International Day Pass can be added to one of AT&T’s unlimited plans: Unlimited Premium PL, Unlimited Extra EL, or Unlimited Elite.

Currently, the International Day Pass is effective in more than 210 destinations globally, spanning various regions, including Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America.

Customers who integrate the International Day Pass into their unlimited plans can make calls to their current location, any other participating International Day Pass country, and to the United States, all without incurring additional charges. Calls to locations outside the International Day Pass network will, however, be charged at standard International Long Distance rates.

Understanding the billing structure for the International Day Pass may require some clarification, and here’s a brief overview:

  • If you’re traveling solely on land, you’ll incur just one daily fee per 24-hour period for the International Day Pass, even if you visit multiple included destinations within that timeframe.
  • If your travels are exclusively at sea, a single daily fee will again apply per 24-hour period.
  • For those who are at sea and on land in the same day, the fee for the International Day Pass will be $20 per day, covering both environments.
  • For travelers on land who wish to add more lines to their International Day Pass, it will cost $12 per day for the primary line and $6 for each additional line using the service within the same 24-hour period.
  • For those at sea or combining both travel modes, the charge will be $20 per line for each day the International Day Pass is active.
