Family Bonds: Ayaan Agnihotri Reflects on Life with the Khans
Ayaan Agnihotri Highlights Cherished Family Moments at Arpita Farms
Salman Khan’s family gatherings, particularly their vibrant lunches and dinners, have become a social media sensation, frequently capturing attention through shared photographs. The recent premiere of the trailer for Prime Video’s “Angry Young Men,” which explores the journey of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, brought together the entire Khan family. This included prominent figures such as Salman, Sohail, Arbaaz, Alvira, Arhaan, Nirvaan, and Ayaan, united in their admiration and support for the family’s patriarch.
While familial affection is common across households, the Khan family stands out for its public displays of unity, especially on the occasion of a new project or the debut of a younger generation member. The annual Eid luncheon featuring the Khans, Agnihotris, and Sharmas has become a widely anticipated event, with images from these gatherings often generating significant buzz online.
In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Ayaan Agnihotri, the son of Atul Agnihotri and Alvira Khan Agnihotri, shared a glimpse into the vibrant atmosphere at their Galaxy Apartments home. “It’s similar to lunch at any large family gathering. While it’s quite typical, it can also be loud filled with jokes and the occasional random shout. Elders remind us to sit properly. We usually sit down for lunch at three o’clock when Nana takes his place at the table first, and we kids join him once he starts eating,” he recounted.
In the absence of their grandfather, Sohail Khan steps into the role of leading the meal and embracing a playful approach with the kids. Ayaan noted, “There’s a lot of movement around the table. If Nana decides to eat later, Sohail Mamu often gets to the table first and starts, with Nirvaan, Arhaan, and me joining him. Sohail Mamu is simply the best!”
Recollecting his childhood, Ayaan fondly described Sohail as the “most chill mamu,” who frequently whisked the children away on spontaneous vacations. “He would take me, Nirvaan, Arhaan, and our friends anywhere – just get up and say, ‘Let’s head to Goa or Alibaug!’ It was just us kids and him, no maids. He took responsibility for us all because he truly enjoys spending time with us,” Ayaan shared.
As for Arbaaz Khan, Ayaan conveyed a blend of admiration and playful apprehension. “Sohail Mamu is all fun, but Arbaaz Mamu can sometimes intimidate me. He keeps you alert, swinging from fun to seriousness and back again. He certainly has a wicked sense of humor,” he quipped.
Ayaan’s favorite moments are those spent at Arpita Farms, where the family comes together and enjoys time away from the city. “Our weekends in Panvel are my favourite family vacations. It feels like home, and nothing else compares to that,” he affirmed. Discussing his cousins, he mentioned, “My favorite cousin is Arhaan. Along with Alizeh, we tend to laugh hysterically during disputes. I also spoil my younger cousins. I take Ahil to school every morning, and Nirvaan is quite the negotiator,” he said, chuckling at the thought.
