Ayushmann Khurrana Celebrates India’s ICC Champions Trophy Victory with Thama Team
Celebrations reached a fever pitch on the set of Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film, Thama, as the Indian cricket team triumphed in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand. The actor embraced the moment with his cast and crew, sharing a delightful video on Instagram that captured the jubilant atmosphere of the occasion.
The excitement was contagious as Ayushmann, visibly engaged, watched the nail-biting final moments of the match unfold. When the Indian team secured victory, cheers erupted from the entire crew, highlighting a shared sense of national pride. “Shoot ruk jaati hai jab India jeet jaata hai!” Ayushmann captioned the post, indicating that they momentarily paused filming to commemorate the victory.
In a previous post, Ayushmann shared a photo taken from his car, where he was seen sporting an Indian jersey while watching the match on his mobile device. He humorously remarked, “Shoot pe jaa raha hoon! Mera match dekhna nahi rukna chahiye,” reflecting his dedication to both his work and his love for cricket.
Production for Thama commenced in December of the previous year, with Ayushmann expressing his enthusiasm for joining the film’s vibrant cast. He shared a warm greeting he received from the filmmakers, emphasizing how thrilled he was to enter Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe. “I am excited that Dinesh Vijan felt that it was the best time for me to enter his universe with Thama. After Stree 2 became the biggest Bollywood film, I am even more thrilled to be a part of it. As it moves forward, I feel more responsible for giving a memorable experience to audiences,” he noted in a statement.
Thama features a star-studded ensemble, including Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. This month, Rashmika resumed her role in the film following a recovery period from a leg injury, while Nawazuddin is expected to join the production team in February.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama was unveiled in October 2024 as part of Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe, described as a ‘bloody’ love story. The film is poised for a Diwali 2025 release, promising to add to the growing excitement surrounding Ayushmann’s projects and the cinematic universe he is joining.
