Bad Bunny experiences deep emotional turmoil in his latest music video for “Bokete,” the ninth track from his sixth studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which was released in January.

In the visual, the internationally acclaimed artist is seen conversing, strolling along the shoreline, enjoying meals, and dancing solo while reflecting on themes of lost affection and remorse. At one point, he addresses the audience directly, stating in Spanish, “Time to move on, let it go, and forget, and later on, if we need to fall in love again, we’ll fall in love.”

Before the album’s release, Bad Bunny mentioned that this project was “dedicated to all the Puerto Ricans around the world.” He had previously unveiled a short film in conjunction with DTMF, showcasing a transformed Puerto Rico through the lens of filmmaker Jacobo Morales. “There was something special here. I don’t know what it was, but it was an incredible magic,” he remarked, expressing his connection to the island.

A review in Rolling Stone praised the album as a “triumphant homecoming with 17 tracks that explore the vibrant genres of Puerto Rico.” Writer Maya Georgi noted, “It’s homegrown, jubilant, and fresh as Benito draws on the highlights from Un Verano Sin Ti while pushing the boundaries of his continually evolving sound into the realms of Puerto Rican folk and salsa.” She emphasized how Bad Bunny honors his heritage and reflects on various aspects of his life, rediscovering parts of himself that had felt distant over the past year: the heartbroken poet, the visionary, and ultimately, the proud puertorriqueño.

In the coming month, Bad Bunny is scheduled to perform as a musical guest alongside host Scarlett Johansson for the Season 50 finale of Saturday Night Live on May 17. This appearance marks his third on the iconic show, having made his debut in 2021 with performances of “La Noche de Anoche” featuring Rosalía and “Te Deseo Lo Mejor.” In 2023, he hosted and performed, presenting tracks from Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va Pasar Mañana.
