Following a life-altering out-of-body experience after a severe car accident, author Giles Hutchins transformed his approach to life and leadership. Previously a senior strategist for multinational firms like KPMG and Atos, where he advocated for traditional best practices, Hutchins is now pioneering innovative methods drawn from nature and our intrinsic human nature. His work aims to cultivate regenerative leadership through new tools and perspectives.
“We are nature, and nature is us,” Hutchins emphasizes.
In a recent episode of Inside Ideas, Hutchins delves into his intriguing life journey, his aspirations for future leaders, and discusses his newest publication: ‘Nature Works: Activating Regenerative Leadership Consciousness‘.
In describing his book, Hutchins states, “In Nature Works, it’s not just about nature, but the nature in us, our inner nature. If we neglect the inner self, we risk being trapped in a mechanistic perspective, limiting our potential by not harmonizing with the flow of life. We must immerse ourselves in both inner and outer nature.”
The book integrates insights from neuroscience, contemporary consciousness studies, and age-old wisdom, offering a comprehensive framework intended for resilient and regenerative living and leadership.
Springwood Farm
Hutchins reflects on his personal transition from corporate life to founding Springwood Farm, an international leadership center located near London, nestled in an area renowned for its stunning natural landscapes.
“Being in tune with nature, in love with nature,” he articulates, “this connection is fundamental to regenerative leadership and an authentically regenerative lifestyle.”
In addition to authoring various publications, Hutchins plays a vital role as the chair of The Future Fit Leadership Academy, is the founder of Leadership Immersions, co-founded Biomimicry for Creative Innovation, and is involved with Regenerators. He also hosts his own podcast.
