Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen’s Family Adventure in Florida
Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen recently turned their long-standing friendship into shared family memories during a joint vacation to Florida, which Cohen described as an “epic spring break.” The duo spent time exploring both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, creating lasting memories with their young children.
The two television personalities documented their family getaway through an Instagram post, showcasing their collective fun alongside Cohen’s kids, Wyatt and Sebastian, and Cooper’s children, Benjamin and Lucy.
The first sneak peek of their trip featured the fathers alone, sharing an exhilarating experience on Disney’s TRON Lightcycle / Run in Tomorrowland, a thrill ride known for its sharp drops. This particular attraction requires riders to be at least 48 inches tall, suggesting that the younger kids were not able to partake.
However, the trip offered multiple highlights for the children, particularly a touching moment when Lucy shared a heartfelt hug with Daisy Duck during a character meet-and-greet. While character experiences are typically organized at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Magic Kingdom and Donald’s Dino-Bash at Animal Kingdom, their encounter with Daisy seemed to occur spontaneously.
This moment was particularly special for Lucy, who is about to turn three. During a segment on TODAY with Jenna & Friends, Cohen discussed Lucy’s previous reluctance towards Daisy Duck, sharing that she perceived the character as “bossy.” He highlighted his effort to reframe Lucy’s view, which he attributed to interpretations from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Cohen shared a video of the affectionate moment on social media, humorously captioning it as a resolution of their differences with, “They squashed the beef!!!!! And if Lucy & Daisy Duck can figure things out, I think we can spread this vibe to the Bravoverse…”
When asked by Jenna Bush how he managed the vacation’s excitement, Cohen revealed that by the fourth day, he had reached his limit while queuing at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. “I was sitting there, eating my, like, eighth Mickey ice cream pop — and I was disgusting,” he admitted. “I smelled like humanity. And the children, which I had formerly found adorable, were screaming, and I was like, who am I? Get me out of here.”
Realizing he needed a break, Cohen opted to retreat to the hotel and unwind by the pool, a wise choice given the energetic demands of theme park excursions.
This latest adventure adds to the list of shared escapades between Cohen and Cooper. They’ve previously captured moments from a subway ride through New York City last year to a group trip to Tahiti in 2017, which took place before they both became fathers.
During the morning show, Cohen playfully referred to Cooper as “my other child” and “Grump-lestiltskin,” while also acknowledging Cooper’s brave spirit on rides. “He is fearless, as you can see by his reporting,” Cohen remarked. “He’ll jump on anything! He’s ready to go!”
Despite the exhaustion from their theme park adventure, Cohen expressed eagerness to return to Florida soon. He announced plans to visit Universal’s new theme park, Epic Universe, scheduled to open on May 22, suggesting that his experience at the parks may soon be refreshed. With the shared parenthood and camaraderie between the two stars, future vacations are likely to be just as eventful and memorable.
