The Great Gatsby Musical Debuts in the West End
This spring, audiences will be treated to the much-anticipated musical rendition of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, The Great Gatsby, which will make its West End debut at The London Coliseum. The preview performances are set to commence on Friday, April 11, leading up to the official opening night on Thursday, April 24, at 7 PM.
The production features a talented cast that includes Jamie Muscato as the enigmatic Jay Gatsby and Frances Mayli McCann as the beautiful Daisy Buchanan. They are joined by Corbin Bleu portraying Nick Carraway, Amber Davies as Jordan Baker, and Joel Montague in the role of George Wilson. Additionally, John Owen-Jones will play Meyer Wolfsheim, Jon Robyns as Tom Buchanan, and Rachel Tucker as Myrtle Wilson.
This new musical adaptation of Fitzgerald’s influential work debuted at The Broadway Theatre in April 2024, following a successful world premiere at Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, where it garnered critical acclaim and achieved record-breaking, sold-out performances in late 2023.
The narrative centers around the life of the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby, known for hosting extravagant parties at his lavish Long Island estate, where the elite gather to celebrate. However, Gatsby himself remains an outsider, yearning for a past love—Daisy Buchanan—who represents an era before his wealth and status reshaped their lives.
