“Our aim with this benefit concert is to increase awareness and gather funds for the significant rebuilding efforts currently in progress,” stated the artist.
Renowned musician Ben Folds will lead a benefit concert later this month to assist North Carolinians impacted by Hurricane Helene. The event, titled “From Wilmington, With Love,” is scheduled to be held on October 29 at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, North Carolina. A lineup of local musicians from Western North Carolina will also perform during this charitable evening.
Tickets for this significant event are currently available. All proceeds from ticket sales will be directed to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, which will provide essential services such as food, housing, and home repairs for those affected by the hurricane. The United Way of North Carolina is managing this fund.
“I am grateful to stand in solidarity with fellow North Carolina musicians for those who have suffered devastating losses due to Hurricane Helene,” Folds remarked. “The primary objective of this concert is to not only gather funds but also to shed light on the extensive rebuilding initiatives that will take considerable time and effort in the months and years ahead.”
Bill Saffo, the mayor of Wilmington, expressed the sentiment felt in Coastal North Carolina. “We understand how nature can disrupt lives and threaten communities,” he stated. “We empathize deeply with those in the western region of our state who have faced upheaval due to Hurricane Helene. We eagerly anticipate a wonderful night of music featuring Ben Folds, alongside artists from Western North Carolina who will share their experiences and talents in light of the destruction their communities are facing.”
