Comedian Bill Burr has made headlines recently for his pointed comments directed at billionaire Elon Musk, continuing his tradition of humorously critiquing powerful figures.

During his appearance on “The View” on Thursday, co-host Joy Behar inquired if Burr had expressed discontent with both major political parties throughout his comedic career.

Burr candidly responded, stating, “I’m not into politicians at all. They’re set up to be bribed… I don’t believe they experience real life.” His remarks underscore a growing sentiment among some comedians who see political figures as disconnected from everyday experiences.

Burr has been particularly vocal about Musk’s recent political ventures, including an incident where the billionaire made a gesture that many observers compared to a Nazi salute. Burr expressed disdain for Musk’s actions, highlighting the billionaire’s dismantling of federal agencies and his association with Donald Trump as a source of frustration.

The comedian went on to critique the tech industry, suggesting that individuals like Musk are more interested in creating technology to escape reality rather than engaging with the issues of the world. “I think Elon got the rockets going because they realize there are other Earths out there,” Burr remarked. “And they’re going to destroy this one because they lack concern for it.”

Recently, Burr also took aim at Musk during an interview on NPR’s “Fresh Air,” labeling him “that idiot Elon Musk.” He questioned the plausibility of Musk’s controversial gesture, asserting that it was unlikely to be an accident given the circumstances surrounding it. “Two-times ‘Sieg heil,’ and he does it at a presidential inauguration,” Burr stated emphatically.

Burr expressed frustration with what he perceives as a weak response from liberals, stating, “It’s like liberals have no teeth whatsoever. They just go, ‘Oh my God! Can you believe it? I’m getting out of the country!’ You’re going to leave because of one guy with dyed hair plugs who makes a bad car and has an obsolete social media platform?” His comments reflect a broader debate within political discourse about the efficacy of public outrage versus action.

Burr concluded with a pointed challenge, questioning why Musk is not the one being held accountable. “Why doesn’t he leave? Why isn’t he stopped?” he inquired, underscoring a sentiment that many Americans might share regarding the accountability of influential figures.
