Billie Joe Armstrong Joins Go-Go’s at Coachella 2025
On Saturday, April 12, Billie Joe Armstrong made an unexpected appearance during the Go-Go’s performance at Coachella 2025, capturing the attention of festival-goers and fans alike.
In a special moment before Green Day’s evening headlining show, the frontman of the iconic punk band collaborated with the legendary group to perform their classic track from 1984, “Head Over Heels.”
Leading up to this surprise, Armstrong shared a hint of what was to come through Green Day’s Instagram, urging fans to check out the Go-Go’s set. “Go see the go gos,” he wrote, alongside a snapshot of the festival’s lineup.
After the performance, Armstrong took to social media to reflect on the experience. In a backstage photo with the Go-Go’s, he expressed his excitement, captioning it with, “Head over heels after playing with @officialgogos at @coachella,” and included a carousel of images, highlighting their collaboration and an official setlist.
The Go-Go’s reciprocated the sentiment on their own Instagram feed, posting a photo with Armstrong and sharing their joy, writing, “We had the time of our lives!” Their post celebrated a thrilling performance.
Coachella 2025 spans two weekends, with the festival running from April 11-13 and again from April 18-20. This year, Saturday’s lineups are highlighted by Green Day, alongside performances from various artists including Charli XCX, Anitta, Clairo, ENHYPEN, Jimmy Eat World, and T-Pain.
Speaking to Billboard prior to their performance, Armstrong reflected on the enduring spirit of rock music, stating, “Death, taxes and… rock n roll… In this world gone sideways we know one thing for certain – rock n roll is forever, and its spirit is needed now more than ever. So bring your rage, your hope, and your loudest voice. Coachella, let’s have the time of our lives.”
