Black Ops 6 & Warzone Update for March 14: LMG Buffs with a Twist

On March 14, the team behind Call of Duty introduced a fresh update aimed at both Warzone and Black Ops 6, arriving just three days after a previous patch on March 11. This latest update specifically enhances the capabilities of LMGs.

The recent changes included a notable buff to the D1.3 Sector, a rechambering blade launcher that debuted with Season 2 Reloaded as a secondary weapon. In contrast, the Superi 46 SMG experienced a reduction in its effectiveness.

This new update not only fortifies a recently introduced LMG attachment but also addresses several ongoing bugs, contributing to an overall enhanced gameplay experience.

Call of Duty March 14 Patch Notes

Below are the key highlights from the March 14 patch notes pertaining to Black Ops 6, Warzone, and the Zombies mode:

All Modes

Weapons

Attachment Modifications

  • Belt-Fed: The number of rounds required for the Overheat feature has been increased.
  • The Overheat recovery time has been improved.
  • The base penalty for Ads Firing Movement Speed has been eliminated when using the Belt-Fed attachment.

Weapon Builds

An issue that caused players to see a “Max build limit reached” notification has been resolved.

Zombies

Weapons

A fix has been implemented for an issue where the Overheat meter UI appeared when players equipped the Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon.

Meta Analysis

To unlock the Belt-Fed attachment, players must accumulate 180K XP during the TMNT event.

The recent modifications to the Belt-Fed attachment have certainly enhanced its performance, addressing three significant drawbacks that users faced previously. The adjustments reduce the hassle of overheating, extending sustained fire capability before overheating occurs and decreasing its duration.

Nonetheless, these improvements may not lead to a widespread shift in player preference towards LMGs, given the prevailing strength of Assault Rifles and SMGs, which are currently dominating in the gun rankings for Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

However, players might find it worthwhile to experiment with the Belt-Fed attachment on LMGs, particularly in Warzone, where sustained fire can be critical. The XM4 and PU-21 stand out as the primary LMGs in the current meta, and with the new buffs, they may be worth revisiting in loadouts.

Ultimately, the long-term impact of this attachment buff on LMG viability during Season 2 Reloaded remains to be seen. For the time being, Assault Rifles and SMGs continue to hold their status as the most formidable choices among players, with one newly enhanced weapon continuing to cause significant disruption in the gameplay landscape.
