Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Make Surprise Appearance at ‘SNL50’
On a recent weekend, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds captured attention with an unexpected appearance at the “SNL50” special, following their presence at Chris Rock’s 60th birthday celebration the previous night.
The celebrity-filled birthday bash featured a number of well-known personalities, where Blake and Ryan mingled with the likes of Chevy Chase. Chase commemorated the occasion by sharing photos on his Instagram account, capturing the lively atmosphere.
In his post, Chase shared, “Jay and I went The Crane Club downtown to join the celebrations for @chrisrock’s 60th Birthday, hosted by @guyoseary. So much talent! Such funny and nice guys! Made me miss my dear friend, Richard Pryor. He should’ve been there.” In addition to expressing his fondness for his late friend, the legendary comedian posted pictures with Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Martin Short, Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, Steven Spielberg, Paul Rudd, and Bill Murray, demonstrating the celebratory mood of the night.
As the weekend progressed, “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi had the opportunity to speak with Chevy Chase on the red carpet during “SNL50: The Anniversary Special.” Chase humorously credited himself as the secret behind the show’s enduring success, stating, “Me!”
During the “SNL50” event, Reynolds added a playful jab referencing Lively’s ongoing legal issues involving her co-star from “It Ends with Us,” Justin Baldoni. The couple was invited to participate in a brief Q&A segment with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, where they took their seats among the audience.
When named to speak, Ryan Reynolds played along with the atmosphere, reacting with mock surprise when Fey and Poehler asked, “How’s it going?” His response, “Great. Why… what have you heard?” was interpreted as a lighthearted nod to the unfolding legal drama.
Legal Troubles Surrounding Blake Lively
The casual banter from Reynolds turned out to be a discreet reference to the serious legal situation surrounding his wife and Baldoni. Lively has made allegations of sexual harassment against Baldoni, who in turn has filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against her. The two parties are set to face off in a trial scheduled for March 2026, underscoring the challenges they are currently navigating amid their professional commitments.
