Bart Johnson Reflects on His “Unkind” Commentary
Actor Bart Johnson, known for his role in High School Musical and as the brother-in-law of actress Blake Lively, has publicly apologized for remarks he made regarding Justin Baldoni. The controversy arose from a social media post that Johnson later deleted, in which he appeared to ridicule Baldoni’s appearance and persona, specifically referencing his famous man bun.
On January 28, Johnson expressed his regret on the social media platform X, stating, “Anytime I’ve said anything unkind about someone I’ve regretted it. Fortunately, that’s almost never and definitely not when I’m at my best.” He acknowledged that even in situations where negativity might seem justified, it is essential to maintain a higher standard of behavior. “There’s a better way. It’s below the standard I have for myself, and I regret it,” he added.
The inappropriate comments originated from a now-removed post, which was reported by USA Today. In that post, Johnson was quoted as saying, “He puts on the ‘costume’ of a hero, man bun and all. Used all of the trendy catchphrases & buzz words for his podcasts. None of it’s genuine. It’s all theater. And everyone fell for it. For years.”
Reiterating his apology, Johnson said, “I do sincerely apologise to anyone I’ve hurt or let down by saying something that sounds mean. I’ll do better… We all have flaws, and I’m definitely a work in progress, doing my best to grow and be better.”
This incident emerges during a complex legal battle involving Baldoni and Lively. Recently, in December, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni has denied the accusations and has countered with his own $400 million lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, claiming defamation.
The ramifications of these developments have ignited significant discussion on social media, with fans keenly tracking the situation as both parties navigate the tumultuous legal landscape ahead.
