Blue Jays and Braves End in Spring Training Tie
NORTH PORT – In a closely contested spring training matchup, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves concluded their game with a 1-1 tie on Saturday.
Rainer Nunez played a pivotal role for Toronto, driving in the team’s only run. During the fifth inning, Nunez hit a grounder to third baseman Austin Riley, allowing Michael Stefanic to cross home plate.
Meanwhile, the Braves equalized in the seventh inning with a home run from Luke Williams, which brought the score level.
Pitching Highlights
On the pitching front, Blue Jays’ starter Jacob Barnes had a brief outing, allowing one walk without recording any strikeouts over one inning. For the Braves, Dylan Lee gave up two hits but compensated with two strikeouts across his two-inning stint on the mound.
Looking ahead, the Blue Jays will be back in action on Sunday, hosting the Philadelphia Phillies in Dunedin, Florida.
