TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays have activated outfielder Daulton Varsho from the 10-day injured list ahead of their matchup against the Boston Red Sox.

Varsho began the season recovering from a right shoulder procedure he underwent last September.

Recently, he finished a rehabilitation assignment with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, indicating he is prepared to return to action.

In his second season with the Blue Jays, Varsho’s performance last year included a batting average of .214, along with 18 home runs and 58 runs batted in. Notably, he also earned his first Gold Glove award for his impressive defensive skills.

In addition to Varsho’s activation, the Jays also welcomed right-handed pitcher Casey Lawrence to the roster just one day after he was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Mariners.

As part of the corresponding roster changes, right-hander Paxton Schultz and infielder Will Wagner have been optioned to Buffalo.
