At the conclusion of the previous year, Bobby Pulido announced his intention to retire from music to embark on a political career in 2026. However, the renowned norteño-tejano artist is not finished just yet, as he has exciting projects in the pipeline.

In a recent interview with Billboard Español, Pulido shared that he has entered into a partnership with Fonovisa/Universal for a double album, as well as an additional project that he plans to unveil before officially stepping back from his music career.

Pulido expressed, “I wanted to create something special with my friends, allowing me to invite those I admire and respect.” This project, titled Bobby Pulido & Friends – Una Tuya y Una Mía, aims to feature collaborations in which artists perform both Pulido’s songs and their own.

The recording sessions took place in December 2024 during Pulido’s performances at Auditorio Cumbres in Monterrey, Nuevo León, where he shared the stage with notable musicians such as Alicia Villarreal, Bronco, Kinky, Caloncho, Majo Aguilar, and David Bisbal, among others.

The first singles from this collaborative effort will debut on April 22 with a new rendition of Pulido’s hit “Desvelado,” featuring Bisbal. Following that, a norteño-tejano interpretation of Bisbal’s track “Dígale” will be available on streaming services two days later.

Antonio Silva, managing director of Fonovisa Disa US & México, shared with Billboard Español, “For our team and personally for me, it’s incredibly emotional to reconnect at such a significant moment, creating a project that encapsulates a lifetime of success and legacy.”

The first installment of Bobby Pulido & Friends – Una Tuya y Una Mía will consist of 14 tracks that will be released in pairs on a weekly basis, starting April 22 and culminating on May 30. Subsequently, the second set, comprising 16 songs, is set to launch on June 17 and will conclude on August 7.

Hailing from Edinburg, Texas, Pulido is famed for his hits like “Se Murió de Amor,” “Le Pediré,” and “Ojalá Te Animes.” He is a prominent figure within a thriving subgenre of regional Mexican music that emerged in the mid-1990s, alongside groups like Intocable, La Firma, El Plan, and Duelo. “We created our own music by blending different cultures, and I feel privileged to have represented this movement for so long while mentoring new artists,” Pulido remarked. “I take pride in my career achievements; I never aspired to be just a fleeting artist.”

Beyond the double album, Pulido is also working on a studio album slated for release next year, as he aims to leave fans with fresh music prior to his political ambitions in Texas.

Fans will have opportunities to catch Pulido live during his Por La Puerta Grande Tour, set to commence on April 25 in San Antonio, Texas, and include performances through 2025, with a notable show on August 9 at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.
