Bon Iver to Host Basketball Tournament in Los Angeles
This Saturday, April 12, Bon Iver is set to host a unique basketball tournament in Los Angeles celebrating the release of their new album, SABLE, fABLE. The event will take place at the Terasaki Budokan sports facility from 3-7 p.m. and will feature an exciting match where Justin Vernon and his friends will compete in a three-game series titled “SABLES vs. fABLES.”
While entry to this free event requires an RSVP, attendees are encouraged to arrive early as registration does not guarantee entry. Expect a lively atmosphere filled with food and drinks, pop-up galleries and shops, plus a variety of games for all ages.
All proceeds from an on-site raffle will contribute to 2 A Billion, an initiative focused on gender equity and combating domestic violence.” If attending in person isn’t possible, fans can participate in a nationwide series of listening parties called fABLE sPACEs, with details available on Bon Iver’s website.
Recently, the band released singles “If Only I Could Wait” and “Walk Home” as teasers for their upcoming album. Justin Vernon has also made appearances on major platforms such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he shared some of his experiences, including the peculiar feeling of being showcased on the jumbotron at WNBA games.
