David Arquette Reflects on His Time in ‘Bone Tomahawk’ as He Promotes ‘Mob Cops’

As the entertainment industry continues to thrive with Western content, it’s noteworthy that this year marks a decade since the release of the acclaimed film Bone Tomahawk. Starring Kurt Russell, the film also featured a talented cast including Patrick Wilson, the late Sid Haig, and David Arquette.

In a recent interview with MovieWeb, Arquette shared his thoughts about working on Bone Tomahawk while promoting his new police drama, Mob Cops. He expressed great admiration for Haig, calling the experience of working with him an honor. “Sid Haig was such an incredible, legendary actor. That may have been his last film, so I feel very blessed to have been part of that,” Arquette remarked.

Reflecting on his experience with Russell, Arquette said, “We had previously worked together in 3,000 Miles to Graceland, and it’s always inspiring to see him perform. He brought a tremendous presence to every role, including in this film.”

Insights into ‘Mob Cops’

Now turning to his latest project, Mob Cops, Arquette collaborated again with director Danny A. Abeckaser. This newest film marks their continued partnership following their work on Mob Town (2019). In Mob Cops, Arquette portrays a law enforcement officer who becomes entangled with crime figures, inspired by actual events from the 1980s through 2005. He noted that fans of gangster narratives would find much to appreciate in this film.

Discussing his working relationship with Abeckaser, Arquette stated, “Danny A. is the best. He creates a family atmosphere on set. His passion for film and storytelling is evident, particularly involving mob tales. He ensures that the characters in his films resonate with audiences.” He also praised the cinematography by Barry Markowitz, highlighting the energy and fun of working under their guidance.

That vibrant atmosphere translates well to the film, which is currently available in theaters, on demand, and on digital platforms. Arquette’s journey through these two distinct projects exemplifies his versatility as an actor and his deep appreciation for the collaborative process in filmmaking.
