Introducing Bosch’s Advanced AI-Enabled Bassinet at CES 2025

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, Bosch unveiled a revolutionary artificial intelligence-powered bassinet designed to address the concerns of new parents. Named Revol, this innovative device promises to monitor various aspects of an infant’s well-being, although its market availability remains uncertain.

Visually, the Revol resembles other high-tech bassinets, such as the popular Snoo. It features mesh walls that facilitate airflow and has the ability to gently soothe a sleeping baby through automated rocking movements. However, unlike the Snoo’s horizontal swaying, the Revol functions with a unique vertical motion, mimicking an elevator-like raising and lowering of the mattress.

The true strength of the Revol lies in its integrated baby monitoring system, which offers caregivers a live video feed. This setup includes an innovative arm equipped with an array of sensors capable of assessing both the internal conditions within the bassinet and the external environment.

One highlight of the monitoring system is the millimeter wave radar sensor, touted by Bosch as being capable of accurately tracking the heart rate and respiration of the baby. This crucial health data is relayed to a companion app on the caregiver’s smartphone, allowing for real-time insights and health updates. Additionally, the bassinet is outfitted with environmental sensors that monitor room temperature, humidity levels, and even air quality through a particle measurement tool.

In keeping with modern technology trends, the Revol also incorporates artificial intelligence functionalities. Utilizing advanced computer vision, the device can detect potential hazards, such as soft objects like blankets or stuffed animals that are too close to the baby’s face, immediately alerting parents to potential dangers. This feature aligns with guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics, which advises against having soft items in infants’ sleep areas.

Despite its impressive capabilities, the timeline for the Revol’s commercial release is still a bit distant. A spokesperson from Bosch indicated that the bassinet will first launch in China, with plans for a rollout in the United States targeted for 2026. This timeline is influenced by the company’s need to navigate the necessary legal and regulatory standards within the U.S. market.

As for pricing, while a specific figure has yet to be established, Bosch representatives mentioned that they are aiming for a price point around $1,200. Although this may appear steep, the company has plans to offer various add-on features, allowing the bassinet to transform into additional functional items, such as a changing table or a small desk, thereby extending its utility for growing families.
