This performance marked Role Model’s debut on the late-night show. The 27-year-old artist, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, delighted the audience alongside Yang in a whimsical interpretation of the hit song, which has become a fan favorite.

Yang’s appearance came shortly after he was seen enjoying Charli XCX’s set at Coachella the previous weekend, which also drew significant attention on social media.

During his ongoing “No Place Like Tour,” Role Model has developed a unique tradition of inviting special guests or fans onstage to play the role of “Sally.” This spontaneous idea has led to various celebrities, including Dylan Minnette and Jake Shane, stepping into the role during live performances.

Recently, Role Model shared insights with Triple J, discussing the challenges of writing upbeat songs, stating, “Dance-y songs are probably the hardest things to write… I have to do this, even if it takes me an extra year. And I think we did it.”

Reflecting on the “Sally” tradition, Role Model explained to Teen Vogue that it was never part of the initial plan. He noted, “I knew right before the tour started that Jake Shane was going to be in Dallas at the same time… so we were like, ‘Oh, we should bring him out.’”

Earlier this month, fans were thrilled to see Reneé Rapp join Role Model on stage in Los Angeles, where they performed together, sharing a playful moment as they danced and engaged with the enthusiastic crowd.
