The B&W Px7 S3 Debuts Today at $429 / £399 (About AU$830)Equipped with a Built-in Amplifier, Enhanced Drivers, and Superior ANCFeatures Spatial Audio, Auracast, and Lossless Audio
Bowers & Wilkins has introduced the Px7 S3, which it claims to be “the most advanced and capable wireless headphone” the company has produced to date.
The Px7 S3 builds upon the already impressive PX7 S2 and PX7 S2e models, showcasing redesigned drive units, support for aptX adaptive and lossless audio, significantly improved active noise cancellation (ANC), and an entirely new aesthetic. Notably, these headphones come with a dedicated internal headphone amplifier instead of relying on a chip platform’s integrated amplifier, which is common in many competing headphones.
Focusing on the design, the Px7 S3 appears sleeker than its predecessor, the PX7 S2e, and the accompanying carry case has also been streamlined. Bowers & Wilkins has revamped the arm mechanism and headband to ensure a snugger fit, while enhancements to the memory foam within the ear cups promise greater comfort for extended listening sessions, suggesting that users may find themselves enjoying these over-ear headphones for hours on end.

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3: Key Features and Pricing
The Px7 S3 represents a milestone for Bowers & Wilkins, featuring 40mm biocellulose drivers powered by a discrete headphone amplifier. This configuration is said to provide a healthier dynamic range and richer audio compared to standard setups where the amplifier is not tailored to the specific driver design.
The newly designed drivers come equipped with an improved chassis, voice coil, suspension, and magnet system, which reduces coloration and distortion, enhances resolution, and delivers “superior dynamics.” Similar to earlier models, the drivers are slightly angled to maintain a consistent distance to the user’s ears, offering an expansive stereo experience.
In addition to quality audio, the Px7 S3 will introduce spatial audio to Bowers & Wilkins headphones—though this feature is set for an over-the-air update slated for late 2025.
The Px7 S3 supports aptX Adaptive 24/96 and aptX Lossless codecs for improved Bluetooth audio quality, with their digital signal processor delivering 24-bit / 96kHz audio fidelity. Users can also opt for wired connections using the included 3.5mm analog and USB-C cables.
Upcoming features like Bluetooth LE Audio and Bluetooth Auracast will also be available later this year through an over-the-air update.
A notable advancement is the active noise cancellation technology, which Bowers & Wilkins claims is the most effective they have developed to date. This bold assertion is supported by the presence of eight microphones surrounding each earcup: two measure the output of the drivers, four monitor ambient noise, and two ensure exceptional vocal clarity.
With ANC activated, the Px7 S3 offers up to 30 hours of battery life, and a mere 15-minute quick charge provides approximately 7 hours of playback time.
Available from today, April 24, the Px7 S3 can be purchased in select countries in colors such as Anthracite Black, Indigo Blue, and Canvas White, with a price tag of $429 / £399 (UK pricing roughly translates to AU$830). However, the launch does not currently include the US market, with a release date for North and Latin America set to be announced soon, attributed to “evolving market conditions.”
