Prime Video’s Upcoming Series Étoile Showcases the World of Ballet
Last night, choreographer Marguerite Derricks and actor Gideon Glick came together to present a special screening of Prime Video’s much-anticipated comedy series, Étoile. This series, created by the award-winning duo Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, known for their work on Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, delves into the intriguing realm of ballet.
The event took place on Monday, April 14th, at the Francesca Beale Theatre located in Lincoln Center, and was followed by a reception that celebrated the cast, including prominent ballet dancer Tiler Peck.
The screening attracted notable guests from the performing arts community, including dancers and performers from Broadway productions such as Back to the Future, Beetlejuice, and Come From Away, alongside choreographer Kelly Devine. The presence of such a diverse group of creatives highlighted the significance of the event within the Broadway and ballet industries.
Étoile is set to debut all eight of its episodes on April 24, exclusively on Prime Video. The new series unfolds in both New York and Paris, chronicling the journey of dancers and artistic directors from two prestigious ballet companies as they undertake a daring plan to save their legacy by swapping their top talents.
The ensemble cast features notable names, including Emmy winner Luke Kirby, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lou de Laâge, Gideon Glick, David Alvarez, and Simon Callow, among others. Additionally, Yanic Truesdale will appear as a recurring guest. BroadwayWorld has also reported that Tony winner Jonathan Groff is set to make a guest appearance in the series, adding to the excitement surrounding its release.
