Jimin Reflects on Military Life and Future Aspirations in New Year Message to Fans
Jimin of BTS, currently on military duty, reached out to fans on January 29 with a heartfelt letter shared on Weverse. Through this message, he offered a glimpse into his life in the military, expressing his thoughts as the new year unfolds. The 29-year-old artist, who began his service in December 2023, shared the challenges and monotony of military life, along with personal reflections on future opportunities.
Starting his letter with a nod to the passage of time, Jimin wrote, “Hello, ARMY, this is Jimin. I enlisted in December the year before last, and before I knew it, two years have already passed.” He further elaborated, noting that he had been in the service for approximately one year and two months, signaling a rapid and significant timeline in his life.
Jimin candidly described military life as “not easy,” sharing that he is continually learning and gaining experiences he looks forward to discussing with fans after his discharge. He noted the repetitive nature of his daily routine, filled with training and physical activities, which seemingly draws days to a close in a cycle of work and rest.
In a personal touch, Jimin reflected on late-night conversations with fellow member Jungkook, with whom he enlisted under the buddy system. He indicated that the nature of their talks has evolved as they ponder their return to performing. “Since the days when we can meet ARMY are getting closer and closer, we’ve been talking a lot about what we need to prepare before we see you again,” he explained. This reveals their anticipation for reconnecting with fans and the excitement of planning their future performances.
Despite their enthusiasm, Jimin shared a sense of apprehension about returning to the stage after an extended break. “To be honest, there’s also a little fear. It’s been quite some time since we all performed together,” he confessed.
