Canada’s Wonderland has officially announced the retirement of one of its beloved rollercoasters as the park prepares for its reopening in 2025. The Time Warp, a significant attraction at the Vaughan, Ontario amusement park, will be dismantled before the summer season begins in May.

Originally launched in 2004 under the name Tomb Raider: The Ride, Time Warp has provided over 9.3 million rides throughout its operational years. This unique flying rollercoaster offered riders a thrilling experience by positioning them face-down, simulating the sensation of flight.

While the park has confirmed the removal of Time Warp, no specific plans for the area it once occupied have been disclosed. Canada’s Wonderland is set to welcome guests back on May 8.

In related news, the park is also gearing up for the introduction of an exciting new attraction called AlpenFury, scheduled to debut in the 2025 season. This dual-rollercoaster is expected to be a standout feature, claiming the titles of the longest, tallest, and fastest launch roller coaster in Canada.

According to a press release from Canada’s Wonderland, AlpenFury will offer a thrilling ride experience that includes a vertical launch from Wonder Mountain, soaring 50 meters into the sky before navigating through an exhilarating course with nine inversions—the highest number of inversions for a launch coaster in North America.

As the park moves forward with these changes, many thrill-seekers will be looking forward to the new experiences while reflecting on the memorable moments provided by Time Warp over the years.
