Dispute Erupts at Theatre Canteen During Movie Screening

In a bizarre incident at a theatre in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a heated altercation ensued over a snacks bill during the screening of the Telugu film “Pushpa 2: The Rule.” The situation escalated dramatically when the owner of the canteen allegedly bit the ear of a patron amid the disagreement.

The conflict reportedly occurred on Sunday when the victim, identified as Shabbir, visited the canteen at Kailash Talkies during an interval to purchase refreshments. According to police reports, an argument was ignited when Raju, the canteen owner, accused Shabbir of not settling his bill.

Witnesses noted that what began as a verbal dispute swiftly transitioned into a physical confrontation, during which Raju and three of his associates physically assaulted Shabbir. As documented in the First Information Report (FIR), Raju’s aggressive behavior included the act of biting Shabbir’s ear.

Additional Superintendent of Police Niranjan Sharma provided further details, noting that the dispute stemmed from disagreements over payment for the food items. “The canteen owner and his three associates allegedly assaulted Shabbir and threatened his life while doing so,” he explained.

Following the incident, which left him injured, Shabbir filed a complaint with local law enforcement on Monday. As a result, a case was launched against the accused individuals the following day, with investigations currently ongoing and hinging on Shabbir’s medical evaluations.

Meanwhile, “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” which premiered to much anticipation, has achieved remarkable success at the box office, reportedly crossing Rs 1,000 crore in revenue within just six days of its release. This accomplishment marks it as the fastest Indian film to reach this financial milestone, according to its production team.

Directed by Sukumar, the film serves as a sequel to the 2021 hit “Pushpa: The Rise” and has been released in multiple dubbed versions, including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, and Malayalam, catering to a diverse audience.
