After recently achieving a Grammy victory, SZA made a memorable appearance on Sesame Street, where she performed her new song “Be Kind to Me, Be Kind to You.” This uplifting track emphasizes the significance of kindness and generosity. In her segment, SZA was accompanied by the beloved characters Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Gabrielle, who harmonized with her. Before diving into the song, SZA took the time to teach the Sesame Street characters the concept of creating a gratitude jar, an interactive way to encourage appreciation.
The tradition of featuring musical artists on Sesame Street dates back to the show’s inception. Over the years, the program has had numerous guest appearances, including Haim, who sang about the alphabet, Mickey Guyton, who focused on community values, and Anderson .Paak, who entertained audiences with a holiday-themed performance. Other notable acts have included Billie Eilish, who collaborated with Count von Count for a rendition of “Happier Than Ever,” and Kacey Musgraves, who brought her favorite colors to the iconic street.
This month, SZA is set to embark on the Grand National Tour alongside Kendrick Lamar. The tour will take them across the United States, Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom, following their collaboration during the Super Bowl LIX halftime show. SZA will be promoting her latest project, SOS Deluxe: Lana, which is an expanded version of her acclaimed 2022 album.
