Listeners took to the comments section, voicing their opinions and criticizing the choice to feature Hasan. One comment succinctly summed up the sentiment: “Well, they definitely have trash taste in guests.”
In light of the backlash, CDawgVA expressed that it is “most likely” Hasan will not make another appearance on the podcast.
CDawgVA Addresses Trash Taste Backlash
During a stream, CDawgVA shared his thoughts on managing public drama. He stated, “The way that we handle it, and the way you should handle a lot of these things when they happen… sometimes it’s just better to not address anything and let it fade.” He noted that engaging at the peak of controversy often leads to additional negativity and does not satisfy anyone.
“It just adds more fire to the flame. From our perspective, we don’t engage in politics directly because it’s just a mess,” he elaborated. He acknowledged the appropriateness of questioning their decision to host a political figure, affirming that it’s a valid concern.
Further expressing regret, he remarked, “[The comments] turned into a political d*ck swinging contest… I think it was bad of us to kind of almost invite that.”
Connor, as he is also known, mentioned that he conveyed to Hasan the likelihood of not featuring him again to avoid inciting further political discussions and backlash towards the show.
This incident comes at a time when Hasan was temporarily banned from Twitch due to controversial remarks made about a U.S. senator during a live stream. He has since publicly apologized, vowing to exercise more caution in future interactions.
