Stephen Graham, known for his memorable roles in “Peaky Blinders” and “Boardwalk Empire,” stars in the new Netflix series “Adolescence”. The drama unfolds as Graham’s character faces devastation when his 13-year-old son, portrayed by debut actor Owen Cooper, is implicated in the murder of a female classmate.

Graham co-created this intense series alongside acclaimed writer Jack Thorne, famed for his works such as the 2022 sports drama “The Swimmers” and the anticipated 2024 biopic “Joy.”

Filmed in a distinctive continuous one-shot style by Philip Barantini, “Adolescence” draws parallels to the BAFTA-nominated film “Boiling Point,” which also featured Graham.

The cast features a talented ensemble, including Mark Stanley, Jo Hartley, and newcomer Amélie Pease, with each bringing depth to their respective roles.

Owen Cooper as Jamie Miller

Thirteen-year-old Jamie finds himself at the center of a horrifying murder allegation against a classmate. This role marks Cooper’s first venture into acting.

Stephen Graham as Eddie Miller

As Jamie’s father, Eddie Miller, Graham not only stars but also helps shape the series through his co-creation role. His extensive acting repertoire includes roles such as Al Capone in “Boardwalk Empire,” and appearances in notable films and series including “Venom” and “Peaky Blinders.”

Ashley Walters as Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe

Walters takes on the critical role of D.I. Bascombe, the lead investigator in this gripping murder case. His prior credits include playing Josh in “Missing You” and Dushane in the critically acclaimed series “Top Boy.”

Erin Doherty as Briony Ariston

Doherty, recognized for her portrayal of young Princess Anne on “The Crown,” plays the role of Briony Ariston, the clinical psychologist investigating Jamie’s circumstances. She has also appeared in the Disney+ series “A Thousand Blows” and the BBC/Prime Video thriller “Chloe.”

Faye Marsay as DS Misha Frank

Marsay, known for her work in “The White Queen” and “Fresh Meat,” provides her talents as Detective Sergeant Misha Frank. She is also remembered for her role as the Waif on “Game of Thrones.”

Christine Tremarco as Manda Miller

Tremarco, who has appeared in “The Responder,” takes on the emotional role of Jamie’s mother, Manda, adding another layer of complexity to the story.
