Chase Expands Sapphire Lounge Access in Airports Across the U.S.
Chase is set to enhance its offering of luxurious airport lounges, expanding availability to more terminals in Phoenix, San Diego, and additional locations. This initiative aims to increase access for its credit card members.
In a recent announcement, Chase confirmed the opening of five new Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club beginning this month. These new locations will supplement the existing lounges in the U.S., including those situated in New York and Boston.
According to Dana Pouwels, the head of airport lounge benefits at Chase, the decision to open new lounges aligns with the company’s commitment to improving the travel experience for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders. In a statement shared with Travel + Leisure, Pouwels expressed, “When we opened our first domestic lounge, we were clear that expanding our footprint and elevating the on-trip experience for our Sapphire Reserve cardmembers was a priority. Our openings in Phoenix and San Diego, in addition to the expansion of lounge access in locations where our customers live and travel, continues along our goal of delivering this highly sought after benefit.”
The inaugural lounge will debut at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) this Tuesday, located in Terminal 4 within the South 1 (S1) Concourse. This lounge is designed to include an indoor “patio,” a redesigned Airstream food truck, and a carefully selected wine list.
Additionally, on December 6, a spacious lounge spanning over 10,000 square feet will open at San Diego International Airport (SAN) in Terminal 2. This facility will boast a wellness area featuring bookable private rest pods, on-demand digital meditations, surfboards crafted by a local artist, and a digital wall displaying drone footage of the scenic San Diego coastline.
Chase’s plans for lounge expansion include opening additional locations in Philadelphia in early 2025, Las Vegas in mid-2025, and Los Angeles thereafter.
Access to these new lounges will be available to travelers holding a Chase Sapphire Reserve card, a J.P. Morgan Reserve card, or The Ritz-Carlton Credit Card, provided that they have an activated Priority Pass. Furthermore, non-Chase Priority Pass members will be allowed entry to a Chase lounge once each calendar year at no charge, but will incur a fee of $75 per person for subsequent visits within the same year.
In a move to further enhance their offerings, Chase cardmembers will also gain access to over 20 select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés for those traveling on departing or connecting flights with Star Alliance airlines.
