Six months following the release of Chef’s Table: Noodles, Netflix has unveiled the trailer for its latest edition of the acclaimed food series. Titled Chef’s Table: Legends, this season aims to honor the culinary trailblazers who have significantly influenced the modern gastronomy landscape. Scheduled to debut on April 28, this new series coincides with the 10th anniversary of Chef’s Table, which initially premiered on April 26, 2015, featuring renowned chefs such as Massimo Bottura and Francis Mallmann.
Over the course of its seven seasons, excluding specialized editions like Noodles, BBQ, Pizza, and France, Chef’s Table has consistently expanded its exploration of global cuisines, introducing audiences to a diverse array of chefs from various backgrounds. In Legends, however, the focus narrows to a select group of the most prominent figures in Western culinary media. According to the announcement, “Jamie Oliver, José Andrés, Alice Waters, and Thomas Keller are legendary figures who have redefined what it means to cook. They are icons that should need no introduction.” Notably, these chefs have not previously been featured in dedicated episodes of Chef’s Table.
Chef’s Table has had a profound impact on the depiction of food in visual media, contributing to the popularity of Netflix’s other culinary documentaries such as Street Food and High on the Hog. The trailer showcases the signature slow-motion visuals of searing flames and artfully arranged dishes accompanied by stirring music. Yet, the announcement hints that even in its tenth year, the series continues to innovate, stating that the remarkable narratives of these four culinary legends have inspired a fresh evolution of the show’s style.
Chef’s Table: Legends is set to premiere on Netflix on April 28, 2025.
