Parth Samthaan Introduces ACP Ayushman in CID 2
Parth Samthaan is making headlines with his recent involvement in the well-known show CID 2. The actor shared a behind-the-scenes video along with an introduction to his character, which has generated excitement among fans. Controversy arose with claims that he had taken over the role from the beloved ACP Pradyuman, originally portrayed by Shivaji Satam; however, Parth will now step into the shoes of ACP Ayushman.
In a recent Instagram story, Parth posted a video featuring him and Shivaji Satam in a casual encounter, where they shook hands and exchanged smiles while leaving the set. His caption read, “Shooting with ACP Pradyuman Aka Shivaji Satam was a delight and full of entertainment. Gem of a guy.” Accompanying this, Parth highlighted his character’s introduction to the show, expressing his enthusiasm for being part of such an iconic series that has been a staple in Indian television for many years.
During an interview with Hindustan Times, Parth candidly discussed his initial reluctance to accept the role of ACP Pradyuman, stating that he didn’t feel a personal connection to the character. Despite his hesitation, he revisited the opportunity after discussions with the show’s creators. Parth also expressed concerns about being addressed as ‘sir’ on screen, which felt unfamiliar to him.
Notably, Parth Samthaan has officially taken over the character of ACP Pradyuman from the veteran actor Shivaji Satam, who held the role for several decades. The storyline of CID 2 shifts its focus to a new narrative arc involving the pursuit of Barbosa, the individual linked to the murder of ACP Pradyuman. This emotional transition introduces tension between the original CID team members and the new leadership, promising an engaging plot for viewers.
Reactions from fans have been mixed. While many are captivated by the fresh direction of the series, others remain vocal about their desire to see the return of ACP Pradyuman, as well as the prominent characters of Abhijeet and Daya. There are rumors suggesting that the production team may consider reinstating Pradyuman’s character due to strong viewer demand, yet no official announcements have been made.
After going off the air in 2021, CID 2 symbolizes the comeback of one of India’s longest-running crime shows. The new episodes now premiere every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM on Sony Entertainment Television.
