Cindyana Santangelo, Model and Actress, Dies at 58
Cindyana Santangelo, a model and actress recognized for her roles in Married with Children, ER, and CSI: Miami, has passed away at the age of 58.
According to reports from TMZ, Santangelo was admitted to a hospital on March 24 following a medical emergency in Malibu, California, around 7:15 PM. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that she was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Details surrounding the cause of her death remain undisclosed, with an autopsy currently pending.
In the lead-up to her passing, it was noted that Santangelo had recently undergone cosmetic procedures at her residence. The Sheriff’s Department has involved homicide investigators in the case, a standard procedure when the circumstances of a death are unclear.
Prior to her notable television work, Santangelo gained attention as a dancer, appearing in the 1989 music video for Young MC’s “Bust a Move,” as well as in Jane’s Addiction’s 1990 video for “Stop.”
In 1996, she took on a recurring role as Sierra Madre, a dancer at The Jiggly Room, in the popular sitcom Married with Children. Following this, she had guest spots on ER and CSI: Miami, in addition to an uncredited performance in Hollywood Homicide featuring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett.
Following the news of her death, Santangelo’s friend, Cynthia Banuelos, paid tribute to her on Instagram, expressing deep sorrow and disbelief. “My heart aches as I write this. I’m still in shock and disbelief,” she wrote. Banuelos fondly remembered Santangelo, describing her as “the most gorgeous mermaid in human form” and a spirit deeply connected to the sea.
Banuelos emotionally continued, “Malibu was your paradise, where your soul danced with the tides and your laughter blended with the sound of the waves. You had a heart as vast as the ocean.” She emphasized how Santangelo’s family, particularly her sons, were central to her life.
Responses from friends and followers flooded Banuelos’ tribute, echoing sentiments of disbelief and loss. One comment reflected the collective grief, stating, “Devastating Best mother, wife & friend Going to miss her light & love.” Another expressed sorrow over the timing of her death, noting plans to celebrate her birthday soon.
The outpouring of love and memories showcases the significant impact Santangelo had on those around her, reflecting not only her talents but also her cherished relationships and vibrant spirit.
