CMF, the sub-brand of Nothing, is making strides with the introduction of its first Pro phone, the CMF Phone 2 Pro. This new model showcases substantial enhancements in camera technology, addressing some previous limitations.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is equipped with a 50MP primary camera featuring a larger 1/1.57” sensor, which reportedly captures 64% more light than its predecessor, the Phone 1. The updated camera not only supports 4K video recording at 30fps but also offers 60fps at 1080p alongside AI-driven image stabilization.

Unlike the single-camera setup of the Phone 1, the Pro version integrates two additional lenses. Chief among these is a 50MP telephoto lens with a 1/2.88” sensor and a f/1.85 aperture, offering 2x optical zoom and digital zoom capabilities up to 20x. Additionally, an ultra-wide 8MP camera with a 119.5° field of view (f/2.2) enhances the versatility of the photographic experience. The front-facing camera remains unchanged at 16MP (f/2.45).

In a notable shift, CMF has adopted a modular approach to its camera system, allowing users to swap lenses for macro and fisheye photography. Other accessories introduced include a universal cover and a wallet/stand combination.

The display has increased slightly to 6.77” from the prior model’s 6.67”, while also boasting improved quality. The panel displays at 1080p resolution (19.9:9 aspect ratio) with a 120Hz refresh rate. Enhancements include support for 10-bit color and HDR10+, delivering exceptional brightness levels with 1,300 nits typical and up to 3,000 nits at peak brightness, alongside 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The screen is safeguarded by Panda Glass.

Enhancements in durability include an upgrade in water resistance to IP54 from the original Phone 1’s IP52 rating. The new model measures 7.8mm in thickness and weighs 185g, making it thinner and lighter compared to the initial version, despite maintaining the same battery capacity. The device will be available in four attractive colors: White (sandstone finish), Black, Light Green (frosted glass), and Orange (metallic sheen).

Under the hood, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is powered by a Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, an optimized version of the original’s processor, featuring a 10% boost in CPU performance and a 5% increase in GPU efficiency. The device houses a 5,000mAh battery capable of 33W charging and 5W reverse charging, promising ample longevity. The official estimates suggest the phone can stream YouTube for up to 22 hours or support 10 hours of gaming on Battlegrounds Mobile India. It should retain around 90% of its initial battery capacity after 1,200 charge cycles.

CMF Phone 2 Pro color options

The operating environment is provided by Nothing OS 3.2, based on Android 15. The CMF Phone 2 Pro is set to receive three OS updates and will have six years of security patch support.

With 8GB of RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB, the device also includes a microSD card slot for additional memory if needed.

A notable improvement over its predecessor, the CMF Phone 2 Pro includes NFC capabilities, facilitating wireless payments — a feature that was commonly requested by users of the Phone 1.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro offers an even more modular design

The starting price for the CMF Phone 2 Pro is €250/£220/₹19,000 for the 8GB/128GB model, with the option to double the storage for €280/£250/₹21,000. The 8GB/256GB variant will also be available in the US for $280 through the Beta Program. Pre-orders commence today on the official site, with general availability set for May 6.

For those interested in additional accessories, the fisheye and macro lenses are priced at €35/£35 each. The universal cover is available for €25/£25, while the wallet/stand is priced at €35/£35. A bundle including all three accessories can be obtained for €45/£45, with exclusive sales through the official website.
