Miley Cyrus Announces New Album ‘Something Beautiful’ with Collaborative Spirit
Last month, Miley Cyrus revealed her upcoming album, Something Beautiful, exciting fans with the release of the opening track, “Prelude,” as well as the title song. Collaborating on “Prelude” was Cole Haden, frontman of Model/Actriz, who shared his thoughts on working with Cyrus in a recent statement to Pitchfork.
Upon being invited to contribute poetry for Something Beautiful, Haden reflected on the existing friendship and mutual admiration he shared with Cyrus. He recounted an early meeting where she shared her artistic vision, playing demos that already conveyed a strong identity, despite being unfinished. Haden expressed gratitude for the deep trust Cyrus placed in him, allowing him to add his voice to the project.
Haden emphasized his usual reluctance to write for others, noting that he took considerable time to absorb the essence of the album. This introspection allowed him to craft lyrics that aligned with the themes and emotions Cyrus had already established.
When he submitted his work, it was embraced as the opening piece for the album, reflecting the collaborative essence of creative processes. Haden felt honored that Cyrus chose to begin Something Beautiful with his words, illustrating how art transcends individual ownership and resonates with all who engage with it.
Cyrus, alongside Shawn Everett, serves as an executive producer for Something Beautiful, with production assistance from Michael Pollack, Jonathan Rado, and Maxx Morando. The album is set to release on May 30.
In parallel, Model/Actriz is gearing up for the launch of their sophomore album, Pirouette, which follows their celebrated debut, Dogsbody, released in 2023. Fans can look forward to Pirouette hitting shelves on May 2.
