Colin Kaepernick Still Training For NFL Return … Says Partner Nessa

Colin Kaepernick has remained committed to an NFL comeback, despite not stepping onto a professional field for nearly ten years. His long-time partner, Nessa Diab, recently shared insights about Kaepernick’s ongoing preparations for a potential return to football.

In a conversation with TMZ Sports in New York City, Nessa emphasized that Kaepernick, who is still a free agent, is maintaining an intense training regimen as several NFL teams search for a quarterback option.

Nessa, who welcomed a child with Kaepernick in 2022, stated, “He’s working hard in the gym, training consistently, and remains hopeful that an NFL general manager will see his dedication and offer him a chance to demonstrate his capabilities.”

“All day, every day! Nothing has changed! Nothing!” Nessa asserted regarding Kaepernick’s commitment to training.

The last time Kaepernick participated in an NFL workout was with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022, but he was not signed to the team. Prior to that, he had a workout with the Seattle Seahawks in 2020.

During a high-profile workout at a high school in Atlanta, Kaepernick showcased his skills in front of scouts from seven different NFL teams.

In addition to his training endeavors, Kaepernick was approached last year by the Los Angeles Chargers for a coaching position, which would have seen him working under his former head coach, Jim Harbaugh. Ultimately, he decided to decline that offer.

Notably, Kaepernick’s career trajectory changed significantly after his high-profile kneeling protest, which brought him both acclaim and controversy, making him one of the most discussed figures in the league. His NFL career includes a trip to the Super Bowl in 2013 with the San Francisco 49ers, although the team fell short to the Baltimore Ravens.

Since his last NFL appearance in January 2017, Kaepernick accumulated 72 touchdown passes throughout six seasons. As he diligently works toward making a return to the sport, his aspirations to add further achievements to his career statistics remain as strong as ever.
