UNC Tar Heels Secure Top Talent Adrian Wilson from Colorado
The North Carolina Tar Heels, under the leadership of head coach Bill Belichick, have successfully acquired another promising athlete for the 2025-26 season. This time, the Tar Heels have welcomed wide receiver Adrian Wilson from the Colorado Buffaloes, a program previously led by Coach Prime, Deion Sanders.
In an announcement made to On3, Wilson confirmed that he is transferring to UNC to be part of Belichick’s inaugural season in Chapel Hill. His decision comes after a period of significant recruitment by Sanders at Colorado, indicating the potential that both coaches see in Wilson.
Wilson emerged as one of the standout recruits for Colorado, entering the transfer portal on Wednesday. His impressive skills earned him a four-star rating, positioning him as the 32nd best wide receiver in the Class of 2025, making him a valuable addition to the UNC roster.

Deion Sanders, who has made waves in the college football landscape, was seen leading his team onto the field before their game against North Dakota State at Folsom Field. His recruiting efforts have been prolific, but with Wilson’s departure, he will need to focus on building a new lineup.
Belichick and his coaching staff have been proactive in enhancing the team through the transfer portal, having recently signed former Nebraska and Missouri linebacker Mikai Gbayor. The Tar Heels’ recruitment strategy has also extended to three former players from the Washington Huskies, thanks in part to the influence of Steve Belichick, who was the defensive coordinator at Washington prior to joining his father at UNC.
Linebacker Khmori House, cornerback Thaddeus Dixon, and safety Peyton Waters are now set to join Belichick’s program, adding depth and experience to the defensive lineup.
Adrian Wilson, originally from Texas, committed to Colorado last December, enrolling early following his verbal agreement with Arizona State. His arrival at UNC is a clear sign of the program’s aspirations under Belichick’s guidance.
As the Tar Heels look to bolster their competitive edge, the quarterback position remains a focal point for improvement. Speculation around South Alabama’s Gio Lopez being a potential target has arisen, indicating UNC’s commitment to assembling a formidable roster for the upcoming season.
While Wilson’s move is a significant step, all eyes will also be on Sanders and Colorado as they search for emerging stars, particularly with expectations for Shedeur Sanders and two-way player Travis Hunter to be top picks in the impending 2025 NFL Draft.
