Columbia County Spring Fair Implements New Regulations for Youth Visitors
For those under 18 years old, attending the Columbia County Spring Fair this weekend necessitates the presence of a parent or guardian. This decision follows concerns about a significant number of unattended minors who had disruptive behaviors during the previous weekend’s events.
The Merchants Association of Columbia County issued a statement emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe and family-friendly environment, stating, “Due to the number of unattended youths last Saturday that seemed intent on disrupting the fair, we feel these changes are necessary to continue to provide a family-friendly atmosphere and safe environment for all.”
Individuals who are 18 years and older should be prepared to present identification upon arrival at the fair, located at 5462 Columbia Rd. Starting at 6 p.m. on April 26 and 27, any attendees aged 17 and younger will require a parent or guardian for entry, with one adult allowed to supervise up to four children.

Visitors aged between 11 and 17 must also acquire their admission and ride tickets directly at the event venue, as specified by the organizing civic club.
This new rule follows a similar measure that was enforced for the annual Fall Fair in November, indicating an ongoing effort by the Merchants Association to ensure a secure atmosphere for all fairgoers.
The festivities, which include rides, games, live performances, and various attractions, will continue until 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. Gates will open at 5 p.m. on weekdays, at noon on April 26, and at 1 p.m. on April 27.
