Renault Unveils E-Tech T Trucks with Promising Range
Renault, the iconic French automotive manufacturer, has launched plans for its latest E-Tech T trucks, boasting an impressive single-charge range of 375 miles. This distance roughly parallels the journey from Los Angeles to San Francisco, positioning Renault’s offering as a significant contender in the electric trucking market.
In a direct comparison to the Tesla Semi, which delivers a range of 300 to 500 miles, the standout feature of the E-Tech T is its innovative E-axle technology. This setup consolidates the truck’s motors and transmission at the rear, allowing for additional battery packs to be integrated into the design for enhanced performance and range.
By November 2024, Renault has reported that their electric truck users have collectively mitigated 32,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions during their transport operations, highlighting the environmental benefits of transitioning to electric vehicles, as noted by Interesting Engineering.

Emmanuel Duperray, Renault Trucks’ Senior Vice President of Electromobility, emphasized the significance of this new electric truck, stating in a press release that its range of 600 km per charge, coupled with the anticipated expansion of public charging infrastructure by 2026, will facilitate operational parity with diesel trucks, fulfilling customer expectations.
Renault has been pioneering hybrid and electric trucks since 2009, with substantial production beginning in 2020.
With an average truck covering approximately 500 miles in a single day, the ability to charge effectively while navigating rural routes presents a pivotal advantage for trucking operations.
