Cusick Motorsports is part of a longstanding tradition known as “Indy Only” operations, which specifically focus on competing in the Indianapolis 500. This approach distinguishes team owners who participate in just one race—the premier event of the racing calendar—from those who engage in the full IndyCar season.
In 2025, Don Cusick, the founder and CEO of Cusick Motorsports, will again take part in the Indianapolis 500, collaborating with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, another team dedicated to this singular focus.
Founded in 2021 by Cusick, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 40 years in the Healthcare sector, Cusick Motorsports aims to make the world of racing more approachable for various stakeholders. The organization develops tailored programs designed to foster meaningful partnerships that drive business growth through a business-to-business model.
Breaking into the racing industry remains a significant challenge for many. Recognizing this barrier, Cusick established his motorsports team to create opportunities for broader participation.
As with any serious IndyCar team, sponsorship and partnerships are vital to the operation. On April 29, Cusick Motorsports revealed that it would partner with Mach10 Automotive, MannKind Corporation, and Branded Bills for the 109th Indianapolis 500 alongside Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.
Mach10 Automotive, a new collaborator, brings extensive expertise in automotive mergers and acquisitions, as well as performance optimization to the partnership.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mach10 as a partner of Cusick Motorsports for the 2025 Indy 500,” Cusick noted. “Their dedication to growth in the automotive sector aligns with our program’s objectives. We eagerly anticipate a collaborative journey with George Pero and his team.”
The Dreyer & Reinbold Cusick Motorsports team will feature two cars in the upcoming race, driven by Ryan Hunter-Reay, the 2014 Indy 500 champion, and seasoned driver Jack Harvey.
MannKind Corporation, returning for a second consecutive year, played a key role in supporting Cusick Motorsports following a successful debut in 2024. The company is recognized for its groundbreaking inhaled therapeutic products, aimed at enhancing the lives of those facing serious health challenges.
“The continued support of MannKind is a testament to the strength of our partnerships,” Cusick remarked. “As a pioneer in the healthcare field, MannKind is a crucial ally, and we value our strong relationship with them and their partners.”
Branded Bills will serve as the exclusive headwear partner for the Cusick team, providing high-quality custom gear throughout May. This collaboration is designed to enhance the team’s visual identity during the critical race month.
“The partnership with Branded Bills is exciting, as their commitment to quality aligns perfectly with our growth strategy,” Cusick added. “We look forward to establishing a long-lasting relationship that benefits both brands.”
The Importance of the B2B Model
Billy Morgan, Director of Cusick Motorsports, highlighted the significance of offering brands the chance to participate in the historic Indianapolis 500, recognizing it as a unique platform.
“Our partners are truly the driving force behind Cusick Motorsports, and they enable our growth year after year,” Morgan stated. “We see them as collaborators rather than mere sponsors; their support is integral to our advancement.”
“Cusick Motorsports remains committed to enhancing accessibility in motorsports and facilitating business growth for our partners. We eagerly anticipate hosting them during the Month of May and supporting our mutual objectives.”
Mach10 Automotive
Recognized as a leader in mergers and acquisitions, Mach10 Automotive delivers tailored buy-sell and advisory services specifically for automotive dealerships. They are unique in offering performance optimization services aimed at maximizing operational efficiency and profitability, assisting both sellers pre-sale and buyers post-acquisition.
By applying their expertise, Mach10 unlocks the full potential of dealerships, exceeding industry standards in their services.
MannKind
MannKind is dedicated to the development and commercialization of innovative inhaled therapies to address significant medical needs, particularly for those suffering from endocrine and orphan lung diseases. The company’s commitment lies in utilizing its advanced formulation and engineering technologies to alleviate the burdens associated with conditions like diabetes.
Their proprietary technologies utilize dry-powder formulations and inhalation devices, allowing rapid delivery of medications directly to the target sites within the lungs.
Branded Bills
Branded Bills excels in providing high-quality headgear and apparel, featuring vast customization options aimed at both individual consumers and businesses.
Preparations for the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge will begin on May 13, with live coverage of practice sessions available on FS1 and FS2. Qualifying Weekend is set for May 17-18.
Excitement builds as the green flag for this marquee event, dubbed “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” is scheduled to drop at 12:30 PM ET on Sunday, May 25, broadcast live on FOX.
