Cynthia Erivo Unveils Live Performance for Upcoming Album
Cynthia Erivo has released a live video performance of her new single “Worst of Me,” which is set to feature on her upcoming album. The video is now available for fans to watch, and the album can be preordered here, with a scheduled release date of June 6th.
The Tony Award-winning artist revealed the title of her new album, “I Forgive You,” through an Instagram update earlier this month. She expressed her excitement by stating, “Over the last two-plus years, amidst all the traveling, filming, interviews, and award shows, I collaborated with my dear friend Will Wells to create this project for you and me. This album, this collection of songs, is something I’m incredibly proud to share.” “I Forgive You” marks her second studio album, following her debut “Ch. 1 Vs. 1,” which was released in 2021.
In a prior interview, Erivo discussed her innovative creative process, highlighting that much of her music stems from her unique vocal capabilities. This skill allows her the freedom to improvise and layer harmonies over the melodic structure, enabling her to produce music spontaneously without extensive written material beforehand.
Cynthia Erivo is recognized as a Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning performer, as well as a nominee for prestigious accolades such as the Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA, and SAG Award. She garnered significant acclaim for her role in the adaptation of “Wicked,” receiving multiple nominations including those from the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. This year, she will reprise her role as Elphaba in the second installment of the Broadway adaptation, titled “Wicked: For Good.”
