Daniel Seavey Honors Why Don’t We Bandmates with ‘Fallin’ Dedication: WATCH

After recently overcoming a challenging legal dispute with their previous management, the members of Why Don’t We are experiencing a renewed sense of unity. During a solo performance on Wednesday night, Daniel Seavey performed “Fallin’ (Adrenaline)” and dedicated it to his bandmates, who were present in the audience.

“Look who’s here! I love you guys,” Seavey exclaimed, acknowledging Jonah Marais, Jack Avery, Zach Herron, and Corbyn Besson in the crowd. “This one’s for you.”

This heartfelt performance took on added significance given the recent jury decision that ruled the band had violated their agreement with Signature Entertainment, preventing them from continuing to use the name “Why Don’t We.” They also lost a defamation case related to claims against former manager David Loeffler.

Reflecting on the case, Seavey expressed the difficulty of losing control over songs that were deeply personal to him. “I have to accept that the songs I deeply poured myself into—songs about love, heartbreak, and my struggles with self-worth—are no longer mine,” he commented. Seavey testified during the trial, stating that he had played a significant role in the creation of the band’s last album, yet had to credit another contributor who allegedly did not contribute to the same extent.

In his ongoing endeavors, Seavey included “Fallin’,” which he co-produced for the band’s final album The Good Times and the Band Ones, in his current tour supporting his debut album Second Wind, released on March 7. During the Los Angeles show, he also honored a fan’s request to cover “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” by Role Model.

The members of Why Don’t We went on hiatus almost three years ago due to the legal problems that arose, which halted their ability to tour for their last album. Currently, each member is exploring solo projects.

Seavey’s performance in Los Angeles marks the beginning of his Second Wind tour, which will continue across the United States until April before he heads to Europe in May and Australia in June. “This album was designed around the concept of my live show,” Seavey explained upon releasing the tour information. “I envisioned the live iteration of every song while I was creating them. You can’t imagine how excited I am to bring this vision to life for everyone.”
