Daniel Suarez Signs Contract Extension with Trackhouse Racing
Daniel Suarez has officially extended his contract with Trackhouse Racing Team for the upcoming season in the NASCAR Cup Series.
This extension marks his fifth consecutive year with the organization, which was founded in 2021, featuring Suarez as its inaugural driver.
Suarez achieved the pinnacle of his success during the 2022 season, where he secured his first career Cup victory at Sonoma and concluded the year ranked 10th in the championship standings.
“Trackhouse is home to me, and I have enjoyed every moment spent here,” Suarez stated, reflecting on his journey. He made history as the first Mexican driver to triumph in a Cup race, achieving this milestone with a strong performance in Sonoma in June 2022.
“We are committed to continuing our progress, improving, and winning more races. This mission is supported by my Amigos and Amigas at Freeway Insurance,” he added.
“They have stood by me for several years, and we have cultivated a close relationship with their clients and team members,” he continued.
Born in Monterrey, Suarez is already secured a place in the 2024 NASCAR Cup playoffs, thanks to a thrilling three-wide finish at Atlanta.
Recently, he celebrated his marriage to Julia Piquet in Brazil, the daughter of three-time Formula 1 world champion Nelson Piquet. During this trip, he also achieved a victory in the NASCAR Brasil Series at Interlagos. Earlier this year, Suarez claimed victory in the exhibition race of the NASCAR Mexico Series held at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.
Suarez began his Cup career in 2017 with Joe Gibbs Racing, followed by stints at Stewart-Haas Racing before joining Trackhouse.
Trackhouse Racing operates two full-time entries in the Cup Series, with Ross Chastain driving the #1 Chevrolet. The team is also expanding its roster with three-time Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen, Cup rookie Zane Smith, and promising talent Connor Zilisch.
