Danny Dyer: Crafting a New Play Inspired by Harold Pinter

Actor Danny Dyer is in the initial phases of developing a new theatrical piece that delves into his profound friendship with renowned playwright Harold Pinter. In a recent conversation with Deadline, Dyer revealed that he is currently assembling a creative team to bring this concept to fruition.

Dyer’s connection with Pinter dates back to his earlier days in the industry when he auditioned for Pinter’s play, *Celebration*. Their relationship flourished following his performances in two of Pinter’s works. In 2020, Dyer explored this bond further through a documentary aired on Sky, aptly titled *Danny Dyer on Pinter*.

The play is tentatively titled “When Harry Met Danny.” Dyer is contemplating whether to portray himself or take on the role of Pinter, who passed away in 2008. His enthusiasm for the project is palpable.

“I really like it and am excited about it,” Dyer expressed. “I’d love to explore it more. I’m grateful for the years I spent with Harold, and he was a real mentor to me.”
