Last year, theater artist Darian Sanders published a memoir detailing his journey from childhood in Kentucky to his role as Simba in the Broadway national tour of The Lion King. According to a report by Deadline, Sanders’ book, titled Don’t Fear Your Roar, is set to become one of two works adapted for screen through a new collaboration between Gungnir Publishing and Storyteller Media, a division of Curiosity Entertainment. The second title involved in this initiative is Gina Din’s autobiography, Daughter of Africa, which will launch alongside a companion workbook focused on leadership and legacy.
This innovative initiative seeks to redefine the publishing landscape by transforming literary works into multi-platform experiences. “This is how we build legacy stories that last,” stated Adhrucia Apana, the founder of Curiosity. A complete list of upcoming titles will be revealed soon, featuring a diverse array of genres such as memoir, fiction, and graphic novels.
Darian Sanders debuted on Broadway with The Lion King as Simba and has held various regional theater roles, including Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Seaweed in Hairspray, and Curtis in Dreamgirls, among others.
Described as an “inspiring memoir,” Don’t Fear Your Roar captures Sanders’ personal journey, sharing the challenges and successes that shaped his life, and providing readers with a source of inspiration. For more details about the memoir, visit here.
