2026 Golden Globe Awards Scheduled for January 11
The date for Hollywood’s premier awards night, the Golden Globe Awards, has been officially announced for 2026. CBS and the Golden Globes organizers revealed on Thursday that the ceremony will take place on January 11, 2026. Following her successful performance this year, comedian Nikki Glaser will return as the host for the event.
This year’s ceremony attracted approximately 9.3 million viewers, slightly down from the previous year’s 9.4 million, which benefited from the highlight of major films such as “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie.” The winners of the 2025 Golden Globes included notable titles such as “The Brutalist” for Best Drama and “Emilia Pérez” for Best Musical/Comedy, with “Shogun” taking home the award for Best Drama Series and “Hacks” being recognized as Best Comedy Series.
Nominations for the upcoming Golden Globes will be revealed on December 8, marking the beginning of the countdown to the awards event.
The announcement regarding the Golden Globes date coincides with a flurry of scheduling updates for the awards season. The Producers Guild Awards are slated for February 28, 2026, while the Screen Actors Guild Awards will follow on March 1, 2026. The Academy Awards, another significant highlight in the awards calendar, are scheduled for March 15, 2026.
