David Warner’s Attempt to Learn Telugu Phrases Steals the Show at ‘Robinhood’ Trailer Launch
Robinhood is set to hit theatres on March 28.
The much-anticipated trailer for Robinhood, featuring Sreeleela and Nithiin, was recently unveiled during an exciting launch event. However, it was the unexpected cameo by Australian cricketer David Warner that truly captured the attention of the audience. Known for his enthusiasm for Telugu cinema and his memorable dance performances, Warner makes a delightful appearance in the trailer’s final moments, eliciting cheers from fans. In an amusing behind-the-scenes video released by the film’s production team, Warner can be seen attempting to learn some Telugu phrases from the lead actors, resulting in some endearing blunders.
The engaging clip begins with Nithiin encouraging Warner to repeat after him, stating, “If you want our Telugu audience to love you, you should repeat after us, okay?” Warner playfully responds, “But they already love me.” Sreeleela joins in the good-natured banter, quipping, “That’s for cricket — now we’re talking about acting!”
Nithiin and Sreeleela take it upon themselves to teach Warner several Telugu expressions, including “You love the Telugu audience” and “You love everyone,” humorously declaring these as his lines for the event. Despite his evident confusion, Warner embraces the challenge with good humor, providing a source of entertainment for everyone present.
Mythri Movie Makers shared this lighthearted moment on their Instagram page, captioning the video: “Secret behind David Warner’s Telugu… or not.”
During the trailer launch of Robinhood, Warner joined the entire cast on stage for a lively dance performance, showcasing his skills. Among his highlights was a rendition of his favorite dance moves from the popular song Srivalli from the blockbuster film Pushpa, which received enthusiastic applause from the crowd.
Aside from David Warner, Robinhood, directed by Venky Kudumula, features a talented cast including Sreeleela, Nithiin, Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, Devdatta Nage, Shine Tom Chacko, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Brahmaji, Aadukalam Naren, Mime Gopi, and Shiju in pivotal roles.
The film was initially slated for release on December 25, 2024, coinciding with the Christmas holiday. However, it has since been rescheduled, and audiences can now look forward to its premiere on March 28, 2025.
