Deshonne Redeaux has officially committed to play football for the University of Southern California, marking a significant moment in his athletic journey that resonates deeply with his Los Angeles roots.

The four-star running back hails from Carson, California, known for his exceptional speed and keen field vision. Redeaux’s announcement was made even more memorable with the presence of two notable figures from L.A.—Snoop Dogg and JuJu Watkins.

“I feel incredibly honored to have the support of Snoop Dogg during such a pivotal moment in my life,” Redeaux stated in an interview with Billboard. “Having played in his Snoop Youth Football League really set the foundation for my goal of earning a Division 1 college scholarship.”

JuJu Watkins, who has gained recognition as USC’s dynamic basketball player and a close friend of Redeaux, also shared the limelight during the announcement. “Having JuJu by my side is truly meaningful since we’ve known each other since childhood, and her achievements have been a source of inspiration for me,” he remarked. “I’m eager to join her at USC, make a positive impact on our community, and work towards bringing national titles back to our hometown!”

For Redeaux, choosing to remain in Los Angeles and wear the USC jersey transcends just playing football. “My decision to commit to USC is rooted in the desire to make a difference in my local community and to embody a beacon of hope right where I grew up,” he explained. “The university’s rich traditions and legacy—especially surrounding the running back role—were critical in my choice. I hope to help restore a winning mentality to USC football and uplift the Los Angeles spirit.”

In celebration of this milestone, Redeaux provided a glimpse into his personal game day hype playlist through Billboard, detailing the tracks that energize him before stepping onto the field.

One standout track for him is “Lord Knows” by Drake featuring Rick Ross. “The song’s message is all about motivation and reflection,” he shared. “With faith and determination, anything is achievable, and it really sets the tone for my mindset!”

As he gears up for game day, he often listens to “Head Blown” by NBA YoungBoy, stating that it helps him shift into a focused and aggressive mentality. “It’s all about getting into the zone,” he noted.

Other significant songs in his playlist include J. Cole’s “Love Yourz,” Ginuwine’s “Same Ol G,” and Nipsey Hussle’s “Dedication,” all of which resonate with his journey and aspirations.

“I can’t wait for the first time I step on the field at the Coliseum—it’s a dream I’ve always had,” Redeaux expressed. “I aim to inspire the younger generation and consistently show up for them.”
