A nostalgic moment captured during promotional activities for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
Dharmendra is set to make an appearance in the upcoming film Ikkis.
Celebrated actor Dharmendra shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, expressing his admiration for actress Alia Bhatt. The post featured a charming photograph of them together, in which Dharmendra referred to Alia as his “loving bahu” and “pretty beti.” This is a nod to their collaboration in Karan Johar’s film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, released in 2023.
The nostalgic image, captured during one of their film’s promotional events, showcases Dharmendra dressed sharply in a blazer and jeans, while Alia dazzles in a bright pink traditional saree. His caption included, “An excellent artist, loving Bahu, Pretty Beti. Always pray for RK.”
Earlier, Dharmendra also posted a behind-the-scenes look from the film set, where both he and Alia were seen engrossed in an iPad. He remarked, “Friends, Loving Alia is showing me glimpses of my romantic past. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” His son, actor Sunny Deol, showed his support by commenting with red heart emojis on the post.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starred Ranveer Singh alongside Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, with an impressive supporting cast that includes Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, and Kshitee Jog.
In Dharmendra’s upcoming film, Ikkis, he portrays a significant role in a war drama inspired by the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a soldier whose bravery earned him the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. The film will also feature Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan. The director, Sriram Raghavan, shared insights with The Indian Express, explaining that this project differs from his previous works.
Raghavan stated, “It is a story I connected with and liked. Parts of it are very emotional, it also has battle sequences and action in the typical sense of the word. Hopefully, we have tried and done it differently. It is a war film, and it is a drama. It was a break from the kind of movies I was doing, and I wanted that, so that the next time I am doing a thriller, I feel fresh. That there is no baggage.”
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt was last seen in the movie Jigra and will next appear in Alpha alongside Sharvari.
