Blizzard Entertainment has released Diablo 4’s 2.1.0 Hotfix 3, which reintroduces the Hex of Whispers Witchcraft power into the game, specifically for Season 7. In addition to this significant update, players can now expect an increased drop rate for the elusive Restless Rot currency, which had been difficult to acquire since the season’s start.
The Season of Witchcraft allows players to explore a new array of supernatural capabilities, enhancing gameplay diversity. However, shortly after Season 7 commenced, Blizzard temporarily disabled the Hex of Whispers due to stability concerns.
This power was initially disabled during the rollout of Hotfix 1, which also addressed a malfunction occurring with a Unique armor piece designated for the Barbarian class.
Diablo 4 Season 7 Hotfix 3 Patch Notes
The latest adjustments in Diablo 4 also encompass resolution of other issues. A primary feature of this update is the enhancement of Restless Rot drop rates, directly responding to player feedback regarding the difficulties in farming this currency since the launch of the new season.
With these changes, players, referred to as Wanderers, will find it significantly easier to collect Restless Rot from Elite Monsters and Cocoons while traversing various activities and dungeons.
The 2.1.0 Hotfix 3 is now live across all platforms. For those seeking detailed information about the changes, full patch notes are available on the Blizzard Forums.
HOTFIX 3 – January 24, 2025 – 2.1.0
Game Updates
In this hotfix, players will notice that Elite Monsters and Cocoons in Headunts and Rootholds now yield an increased amount of Restless Rot, while the loot drop has been reduced. The rewards from both Major and Minor Reward sources in Rootholds remain unchanged.
Developer’s Note: We have received considerable feedback regarding the overwhelming quantity of equipment drops during Seasonal Activities and the slow accumulation of Restless Rot. These adjustments aim to enhance the gameplay experience, allowing players to focus more on their quests and less on inventory management.
Bug Fixes
- Corrected an issue where the Force of Will Witch Power could lead to an infinite scaling of Overpower Damage.
- Resolved a problem that caused the Hex of Whispers Witch Power to trigger server crashes; this power is now functional once again.
